Chiropractic Practice
So you have just finished chiropractic college, you have that crisp new D.C. or Doctor of Chiropractics Degree and you are wondering what the best next step will be.
Luckily for you, you have a few options.
The first option is to start your own practice from scratch. This option involves a lot of hard work, but also has a large payoff if you are successful in the end. This option requires you to find an office and lease it, customize it and buy all the equipment to stock it. You also need to hire and train a staff. One of the hardest parts could be building your patient base from scratch. If your practice becomes successful, you can feel really great about your ability and your accomplishments in building your own practice from the ground up.
Another option would be to buy a practice that is for sale. Oftentimes, when a chiropractor is ready to retire or to move on, he will sell his practice. The benefits of buying an established practice are that you get to move into an already hopefully well stocked office full of the equipment you need, you also hopefully already have a good staff and a good patient base.
You can also begin practicing in a large chiropractic office that has a group of chiropractors in it. This is a good option because you are coming into a well run business already with hopefully a well trained staff. You also have some patient base that is given to you in a large office like this. There is also a great opportunity to learn from colleagues so close to you all the time.
