There are about 20 chiropractor schools that are recognized by the CCE in the United States.  The CCE is the Council on Chiropractic Education and they are a valuable resource on good chiropractic schools.

There are also great chiropractic schools in Canada and around the globe.  When attending chiropractic school, you can expect to spend around three years studying and a fourth year in the field practicing and learning under a licensed and experience chiropractor.

There are steps you must take before you attend chiropractor school.  One of the most important steps is getting a background education in science.  As of right now it is required that you get a two year degree before you can attend chiropractor school but it is highly recommended that you complete a four year degree.  This degree can be in any area of science including health sciences, biology, or anatomy.

After getting this degree, you have to decide which school to attend.  This decision may be influenced by your location or you desired future location.  There are four chiropractor schools in California.  There are two schools in Texas.  There are also chiropractic schools in New York, Illinois, Connecticut, Iowa, and Oregon (as well as a few others not listed).

Once you have completed chiropractor school you are ready to start your own practice.  Chiropractors adjust their patient’s spines in order to improve the health of the spine itself and by extension, improve the overall nervous system health.  There is also a belief that a healthy spine can lead to overall body health.
